The only Roman emperor that volunterely left his trown was emperor Diokletianus and exactly he, in 3 ct. AD, built the palace where today stands the city of Split. East and west wall of the palace are 216 m long, on the south 181 m and north 175 m. The visitors of Split will be impressed by the architecture from this period.
